What is a Nurse Practitioner?
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an experienced, highly qualified registered nurse with advanced clinical training who can assess, diagnose, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and develop personalised treatment plans—providing comprehensive, patient-centred care.
As a Diabetes Nurse Practitioner and Credentialled Diabetes Educator, I bring over 14 years of experience in primary healthcare, with a special interest in diabetes prevention, education, and management. I support people living with type 1, type 2, gestational, and complex diabetes to better understand their condition, build confidence in self-management, and achieve healthier, sustainable outcomes through evidence-based, compassionate care
About Marina
Marina is a Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years experience in Primary Care and General Practice.
However, her experience with Diabetes began at age 5, when she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes herself. It was her own journey that inspired her to become a nurse and diabetes educator, to be able to help others navigate the challenges only those who have lived it can understand.
